Gothic Clothing for Goth Girls

Buying gothic girls clothing has become much easier because of the internet but finding just the right gothic girls clothing can be challenging. There are many different styles of gothic clothing for girls because of the different gothic subcultures. If you are a mainstream goth girl you probaly dress in black, have a nose ring and dyed hair. Romantic gothic girls are more apt to wear long velvet dresses or rich brocades with lace and ornate accessories from the victorian era. To read about the different goth styles that gothic girls wear go to http://www.hotgothicstuff.com/gothic-girls.shtml  Hot Gothic Stuff helps define the style of hot gothic girls.

Gothic Little Red Riding Hood?

That’s right the popular children’s fairy tale written by the Grimm brothers is getting a new gothic reimaging. According to Vanity fair Leonardo DiCaprio’s production house Appian Way is teaming with the screenwriter David Leslie Johnson of the newly released horror movie Orpan to recreate a gothic slant to the Red Riding Hood tale.

The fairy tale can be traced back to the 14th century in stories told to children with the first written version told in the 17th century. Little Red riding hood was a story told for generations throughout the middle ages as a dark tale that was likely a precautionary story made up to keep kids from wandering off into the woods. There have been many versions and adaptations of Red Riding Hood over the years with happier endings such as the woodcutter saving little red riding hood.

It will be interesting to see how gothic Appian way and David Leslie Johnson can take Little Red Riding Hood.

Cheap or Free Gothic Clothing

I wrote an article a while back on how to find cheap gothic clothing http://www.hotgothicstuff.com/cheap-gothic-clothing.shtml  I have had  a lot of positive feedback on the article.

Since then I found a site that has a lot of great ideas on how to make gothic clothing for free from stuff you have laying around. The first project they list is how to make a shirt and fingerless gloves out of a old pair of fishnet stockings. I tried it myself and it came out great. http://www.gothfashion.info/diy.php

Summer Dracula Tour – July 9-16, 2009

If you’d like to travel abroad in tour busses in Romania to view the setting of the legendary Dracula era then this is a trip you won’t want to miss. The tour includes the Evangelical Church in Sibiu, built in 1300, which contains burial vaults connected to both Dracula and the legend of Frankenstein. You’ll see many castles on the tour as well as very old buildings. The highlight of the tour is the Monster Bash Masquerade Ball, in the dungeon at Dracula’s Castle atop the Romanian alps in Piatra Fantanele. The Dracula vacation tour includes airfare, accomodations, meals, admissions, special guests, seminars and attractions and of course parties.

Your plane will land in Romania and your first night will be spent in a spooky hotel (beautiful remote castle) on an isolated island in Bucharest. I don’t want to spoil the whole trip for you so do check out the details of a very fun vacation at http://www.dractour.com/summeritinerary.htm

Gothic Garden Flowers and Gothic Plants

gargoyle statue perfect for a gothic garden

gargoyle statue perfect for a gothic garden

Spring is here once more; I cant wait to plant my gothic garden. I’ve grown many gothic plants over the years but some of the plants that are available now really highlight my gothic graveyard garden. I look for flowers that are dark, almost black but with rich texture like velvet. It is amazing how many varieties of black flowers I have found. I also have lots of vines because they can cover fences and other bare areas of my garden.

Here is an article on how to design a gothic garden Gothic Gardening Styles

Here are some of my favorite dark gothic flowers and plants I’ve found, click on the links to see the pictures:

Black Angel Trumpet Datura-Gothic 10 Seeds

RARE KNIOLAS BLACK NIGHT MORNING GLORY 10 SEEDS

Black Nemophilia 50 Seeds/Seed – Gothic

King of the Blacks Carnation 50 Seeds -Dianthus

Bowles Black Viola 60 Seeds

Arabian Nights Hollyhock – 15 Seeds

To make a dramatic backdrop I have several gothic statues and sculptures as well as a gothic trellis in my gothic garden. When the fall comes they keep my garden looking good. If you buy statues for outdoor use they withstand frost and the freezing temperatures of winter. To give my statues and art gallery look some of my garden statues like my gargoyles are put on pedestals made of rock, stone or brick.

Here are some of the gothic garden art I have collected:

Gothic Medieval Statue European Gargoyle
Gothic grim reaper statue death tombstone sculpture New

Boden Gargoyle Sentinel Sculpture

Gothic Pot Trellis

23″ GOTHIC URN

For gothic outdoor furniture I have a black outdoor iron biestro set with a couple of random iron chairs painted black. I also scatter random pillar candles which make my gothic garden a great place to hang out on a summer night.

I hope some of these ideas have inspired you to grow your own gothic garden too. Good luck with your gothic garden.

Gemolis
