In the case with my $5 victorian chair, I was at a garage sale, it was the last days of the sale, the guy was moving and could not take it with him. I have a feeling he was asking alot in the previous days but noone wanted it then and now he had to get rid of it. He said make an offer on anything you see. So I acted uninterested and said we needed a chair for a corner of our house. He said make any offer. I said $5. I almost giggled in joy when he said okay but I was able to keep my composure until I was out of the driveway when I had to let out a big giggle. Wow do you know what I just got for $5. This victorian chair dates back to 1910 and is in great condition. So if you are looking for gothic furniture keep your eyes open at garage sales and never show your desire, and don’t be afraid to bargain you have nothing to lose, it gives you the advantage.
