WHAT MAKES A GOTH?

Hey! I was wondering how each of you all became who you are now as a goth. Feel free to discuss if you want. I guess I started first on a goth site http://www.gothicmatch.com/photo/gothicgirl888 . I became interested in goth for a very long time there since I was very young as you can say pretty drawn to it. Besides my belief in pagan, I developed great interest in music, the goth clothings, and the goth way of life. I accepted the darkness as I did for the light just as life and death. I accepted the lack of beauty that most people failed to see in life. So if any of you who would like to share on how you became will be up to you.

BECOMING A GOTH

I saw my transformation as a gift, but others seemed to think I had contracted some dark disease. I never would have become as strong and confident as I am now without my newfound gothic-ness. My father was disgusted with me, and I had to fight an inner struggle for a long time to be free of his influence in my life. I was extremely shy and a loner throughout most of high school, but in my senior year I discovered that I no longer cared what people thought of me. I was sick of being what others wanted me to be. So I threw out every stitch of “nice” clothing I had. It was like taking a great weight off my shoulders to be honest. On a trip to Oklahoma with some friends, I made a small detour to a store in Wichita. I bought myself some Tripps and a single shirt. It was what I was wearing when I came home. My father tried to send me to my room, but I refused to go. I told him to get used to what he saw because it was what I wanted to be. He got angry and left. My mother looked me up and down and said, ” You look great. Don’t change.” This was shortly before they split. Now I have more inner strength and power than I ever could have thought possible in those day. Now, thanks to my dark disease, I am free.

GOTHIC BEAUTY

http://www.gothicbeauty.com

I’ve been reading this great magazine for awhile and I thought I would let you know about it. It only comes out about 4 times a year. I get it from Hot Topic, Barnes & Noble, Borders Books, Walden Books, Hastings or B. Dalton when I can find it. The magazine covers gothic fashion, music and gothic lifestyle. The web site has a forum with neat contests.

Happy reading,

Gemolis

HARVEST MOON

It was a lovely evening, the air was cool with a subtitle breeze that moved the crisp leaves on the ground. As I walked out of the building my eyes quickly acclaimated to the darkness. The sky was bright with a full harvest moon that lit the landscape with a soft gray hue. As I approached the old tree the brittle leaves beneath my feet crunched and cracked. I realize fall was here and the colder weather would bring winter soon. As my cloak blew gently in the wind I hurried to fasten the buttons. My long hair blew against my palor white skin as I pulled up my hood. I looked up into the sky. Such a peaceful, beautiful evening. I sat beneath the tree to reflect on the wonderful summer and our bountiful harvest and how I looked forward to the winter and all the celebrations. The air was quite chilly now and the ground became colder underneath me as I started back to the build from where I came. As I approached the doorway I turned around to take one last look at the bountiful harvest moon that had shared it’s radiating light on a perfect gothic evening.
