Ackroyd says that Poe has been misrepresented and he did not invent gothic literature, but reinvented a tradition of horror and morbid drama. Poe was born in Boston in 1809 I found a number of interesting facts about Poe it is no wonder he was considered one of Americas important writers even before his death in 1849.</span></span></span></p>
